Convention Planner

We all know that no matter how hard you plan and try to be organized, we always forget something when going on a trip. I joined a 3-D dream swap and the task I was assigned was a holiday planner. Melissa was specific that we didn't have to follow the task exactly, to run with it and make it our own. Since we didn't have any holiday paper available, I decided to take the planner and make it into a Convention Planner! How cool to have convention stuff in one handy place! The theme of this year's convention is Celebrate '08, so I used that as the basis for my planner. I decided to use the Jersey Shore paper as it seemed like the best paper for a celebration!

The picture above is the front of the planner. The planner is made with a two pocket school folder that has been scored and folded in half and then folded accordian style. Hopefully the picture on the right will give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. I had so much fun creating these planners for my stampin' sisters!

The inside pages were created on Print Shop then I took them to Office Depot and ran copies and cut them down to fit in the planner. There are pages for notes, swaps, and events (since we tend to get together and party a lot when at convention). There is also a large envelope for receipts because we are, afterall, on a business trip!

All product from Stampin' Up! with the exception of the folders, paper clips and staples. Here's the details:
For this swap I used the following measurements:
Outside DSP--4 1/4 x11
Inside Bottom DSP-- 41/4 x 4 3/4
Inside top Cardstock--4 1/4 x 7
HOWEVER, you can take the measurements down to 4 inches and get more pieces out of a piece of 12 x 12, you just have more of the folder showing.
Materials used:Stamps: Happy Everything, Taffy Alpha & Numbers, Big Flowers
Cardsotck & Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue (also Night of Navy Ink)
Punches--My Way, Scallop, 1 3/8 circle, 5 petal flower, small starRibbon--Bashful striped, Pumpkin striped, Wasabi striped, Bashful grosgrain, Pumpkin grosgrain
Other embellishments--Felt flowers, Bold Brights Buttons, Ice Circle brads, misc staples & paper clips, large long notes envelopes. white two pocket folder
Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

You can use this same concept to make holiday planners, substitute planners, camp planners, vacation planners, or even a fun little scrapbook! I hope you'll try this out and email me yours! Tomorrow I'll be sharing my DVD note tins that I made for a couple of swaps. Be sure to check back and see those as one set uses the new (to die for) Bella Rose DSP that will be available in the new catalog!

OM-goodness! these are super fantastic. I'm going to have to make one just for me with all the swaps I've joined!

You willing share your print shop documents? Pretty please?
