Another Open House Project

Today is the last of my three New Catalog Open Houses! I've had a really great time showing my customers the new catalog, new products, and new tools we have available. I previously showed you the birthday tag and bag topper that we did. Now, it's time for a card using all new "In Colors" and a great new set that I got at convention called Eastern Blooms. I really love this set because it can be used in so many different ways. This card uses the faux silk technique which seems just perfect for this blooming stem! All products from Stampin' Up!

Stamp sets: Eastern Blooms, Sanded (background), Short & Sweet
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive marker, Tangerine Tango reinker, Chocolate chip
Accessories: Jumbo pewter eyelet, Chocolate Chip double stitched wide ribbon (it's so yummy!), tissue paper, glue stick, CropODile, blender pen

To do the faux silk we used the Old Olive Marker to color the stem, then we used the Tangerine Tango reinker and blender pen to color the blooms. After it dried, we crumpled up the tissue and then flatened out but not so much that we removed all the wrinkles. We then applied glue stick to the whisper white cardstock and gently laid the tissue on the whisper white. Again, we didn't smooth as you want the wrinkled effect of the silk. This project was well recieved by my customers. They loved the technique and the colors of this card!
