I just got home from a fantastic weekend of scrapbooking with some great friends. About 8 years ago I joined a club called The Heart Of Texas Scrapbook Club. The club puts on 2 weekend retreats a year and 2-3 one day crops each year. Every event we choose a charity in which to raise money for and this time we raised money for Austism Speaks. We (61 participants) raised a little over $1000 this weekend with our silent auction (participants are asked to bring in their unwanted scrapbook items to put in the auction with 100% donation to the charity) and a raffle. I have to say that I so love being a part of this giving club. The club is starting their 10th year and I have accepted the position of president for the coming year. I have a great team and just know it's going to be a great year. On another note, I completed thirty 12x12 scrapbook pages this weekend and I won 1st place in the Picture Perfect category of the Art Show this morning. I'll photograph my winning layout and upload it tomorrow. Until then let me share a card with you. I had originally meant to post it on Friday but we left early for the retreat and then I didn't get on the computer all weekend. All products from Stampin' Up!
