It's been a long time..

It's Friday and that means it's time for another Stampin' Addict's Color Challenge. This catalog year is winding down and it's time for me to start using up my In Colors! I have to say that I'm really going to miss this year's In Colors. There were a few I didn't love right away but I can honestly say this batch I probably used every color way more than I've done in previous years. Today's color challenge is: Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Pacific Point and Bashful Blue. I know it's a lot of colors but honestly, they look really good together!!
As always, all products available from Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Great Friend
Paper: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Washington Apple DSP
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point
Accessories: Scallop envelope Die, Cherry Blossoms Embosslits die, Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates, White gel pen, Fire rhinestone brads, Tangerine Tango striped grosgrain, dimensionals

If you play along, please upload your design to the Stampin' Addicts website (button on right hand side) and put SACC11 in the keywords so I can find it!!

I'm pleased to say that I am done with my huge stampin' deadline and hope to be posting more frequently but I start a two week substitute job today so we'll see!!

Have a great weekend!!

True Friend

The Occasions Mini catalog is out and has some great new sets, papers, and tools in it. I made this card for a card swap with some of my demo friends. I love doing swaps because it allows me to get great samples of all the sets in the mini without having to buy them all. Believe me, that was hard not to do with this mini catalog!

All products from Stampin' Up!:
Stamp sets: Great Friend
Paper: Basic Gray textured, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper
Ink: Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Clear Rhinestone brads, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Dies, Pretties Kit, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Eyelet Border punch, Button Latte, Dimensionals, Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, glue dots

I'm working on a huge project with an early May deadline so if I don't post as often as I normally due, please forgive me. I will try to post at least twice per week especially on Friday when I hostess the color challenge.

Have a great day!

Color Challenge Friday!

Today's Friday and it's my day to post the Color Challenge over at Stampin' Addicts. Despite the fact that Old Man Winter keeps trying to pull Ms. Spring back in, things are blooming around my yard. I wanted a card that reflected the wonders of Spring. I love this time of year when things start popping out of the ground and blooming. I got a card very similar to this in a swap at Leadership this year. Unfortunately, the artist didn't put any of her information on the card so I can't credit her. I loved the design and so I recreated it for today's challenge. All products from Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue
Paper: Same as Ink and Shimmery White
Accessories: Bashful Blue striped grosgrain, Old Olive grosgrain, So Saffron grosgrain, Rose Red grosgrain, Large Oval punch

Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY everyone!!

Manhattan Flower Impression Die

Every once in awhile a new product comes out and you wonder what you ever did without it and when can you get more. The new Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die is that product for me right now! Every time I use this die, I'm amazed at how wonderful it is. I did a card with it last week (See Friday, March 2th post) that showed the full size of the die but today I cut out a piece for today's Sketch Challenge over at Stampin' Addicts. It wasn't until I was uploading it there that I realized I used no stamps on the front of this card! There is however, a stamped message inside! All products from Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral (message inside)
Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Kraft, Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Little Leaves Sizzix die, Manhattan Flower Texture die, Dimensionals, sponges

Wild About Wax Resist

I hate to admit it, but I've been stamping for over 6 years and until yesterday I had never done wax paper resist. I really don't know why, well maybe deep down I just didn't want to drag out the ironing board and iron. Then I'd have to admit that I own those things..LOL! My friend, Rhonda, hosts Technique Tuesday over at Stampin' Addicts so it was time for me to try out this fun technique. When I saw Rhonda's sample, I immediately thought that the background looked like animal skin. So, I pulled out Wild About You and set to work. All products from Stampin' Up! except wax paper!
Stamp sets: Wild About You
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Glossy White, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, wax paper
Accessories: Large Oval punch, Scallop oval punch, Pig Tails Ribbon originals, Chocolate Chip double stitched grosgain, sponges
**Click on the SA button on the right and go to the challenge forum for instructions. My background was sponges with Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive
