Sneak Peek--Kind and Caring Thoughts

Wow, it's hard to believe that a new catalog is just around the corner! Come July 1st there will be a new catalog filled with great new products from accessories to stamp sets!

Here's a sneak peek of a new hostess set called Kind and Caring Thoughts. Most of you know I rarely use hostess sets. However, the images and words on this level 3 hostess set really caught my eye. I love big, bold images and I love the different fonts used on the words in this set. I think it will easily become a favorite of mine.

I did this card for this week's Color Challenge over at Stamping Addicts.
I also made this card with my cousin Margie in mind. She found out this week that the cancer she's been fighting has moved into her bones. She's optimistic and is going to be starting an aggressive treatment, but if you would keep her in your thoughts and prayers I would appreciate it.

All products from Stampin' Up!
Stamp set: Kind & Caring Thoughts
Ink: Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Pacific Point
Paper: Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Basic Gray, Shimmery White
Accessories: Pacific Point striped grosgain, Celery grosgrain, dimensionals, Texturz plate

Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Stamping!!

Bon Voyage Happiness Is a Journey

It's always sad to see favorite sets go, and this was a favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy the projects I made with it.

To see the Last Chance lists, simply click on the button to the right and download the files.

I am very sad to see this set go. It only appeared in one catalog and has been on the dormant list since January. I feel like this set didn't get a fair chance. It's such a great set for masculine cards and travel scrapbooks. I decided to put it to the test and do something a little on the feminine side with it as well. I hope you enjoy my projects.

My first card is a birthday card made with this set. It measures 3x6 which is one of my favorite card sizes. It just seems the perfect size for this set as well. I really like the classic look of this card done in black, white and grays. All products from Stampin' Up!:
Stamps: Happiness is a Journey, Four Square
Paper: Basic Black, Going Gray, Basic Gray, Taste of Textiles (shimmery white stripe at top)
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Vintage brads

My next card reminds me of a trip my family and I took on a steam train up in east Texas. It was fall at the time and there was a little color in the area. All products from Stampin' Up!

Stamp set: Happiness Is a Journey
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Basic Black
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, Sponge Daubers, Circle Designer Brads
I used the poppin' pastels technique on this card and sponged the pastels over the Versamark to give it that fallish look. I used the circle brads because they kind of reminded me of train wheels.

For my last project, I wanted to create a mini album that represented my journey with my husband of 22 years. We have so many great memories of our years and it truly has been a journey. At first I was going to create something more neutral based but then I decided that this was for me and I wanted it to be a little more feminine. Here's what I came up with.
This is a little mini album made with rectangular coasters. I used the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' Kit for this project and matching ribbons. I really have to say that I'm pleased with the way it came out. The pictures inside represent many phases of our lives from our honeymoon to a trip we took last fall to celebrate our birthdays. This is a little scrapbook that I know I'll keep forever.

Remember you can only get the sets on the last chance list until June 30th!
